New Patient Information

Read our Letter of Welcome for New GAT Patients.

The Glaucoma Associates of Texas (GAT) practice specializes in the prevention and treatment of glaucoma. We work closely with our patients to control their glaucoma and prevent further loss of vision using the latest technologies in monitoring and treatment. It is our goal to achieve the maximum medical improvement. We know that to do that, we must communicate clearly and concisely with our patients so that they can play an active role in their treatment plan and long-term success.

We welcome you to browse through our web pages. Please keep in mind that the information contained here is meant only as informational and should not be considered medical advice. We would be happy to schedule an appointment for your examination so that we could discuss your particular medical needs. Please phone us at (214) 360-0000 or (800) 683-0386 during business hours to schedule your exam.

The GAT doctors are ophthalmologists - medical doctors trained in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the eye. Each of the doctors has had extensive, additional training in the management of glaucoma.

Our main office is located in the Greenville Medical Tower at 7150 Greenville Avenue. Parking facilities are behind the building and can be entered from Phoenix Drive on the North side. Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m.

Payment for services is the obligation of the patient regardless of the type of insurance coverage you may have. Payment is expected at the time service is rendered. For your convenience we accept cash, check, and most major credit cards.

Our office has agreed to participate with many insurance companies to file your insurance and require only the deductible and copayment at the time of service. Please phone our office in advance of your appointment to determine if our physicians participate in your particular insurance plan. Please obtain any necessary authorization or precertification numbers from your insurance company prior to your visit.

If you are a (Part B) Medicare patient, we will file your claim and you will only be asked to pay your deductible and 20% copayment at the time of service. If you have a Medicare HMO plan, you must obtain required authorization numbers from the insurance company prior to your visit.

Our billing statements are processed by Ophthalmic Partners of Texas. Payment will be expected from the patient if the insurance company fails to pay the claim within 45 days. If you have any questions about a statement you have received, phone our billing office at (972) 791-1224 or (877) 248-8281.

If you have any suggestions or comments to improve our practice or your care please feel free to phone us or email us at ablankenship@glaucomaassociates.com.
