CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) NOTICE

The Doctors and Staff at Glaucoma Associates of Texas are so excited to be able to see all of our wonderful patients again!

Our number one priority is the health and safety of our patients, our staff, and our families. The COVID-19 global pandemic has brought about many changes to our daily lives, but one thing that remains constant is our commitment to providing our patients with the highest quality care in the safest environment possible.

In response to Governor Abbott’s recent announcement, we are very excited to announce that we have reopened the practice to patients. We are reviewing and adapting the current safety protocols as suggested by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), and the American Glaucoma Society (AGS), and our team is working diligently to make your time at our office safe and your experience exceptional.

We thank you for your understanding and patience as we initiate new office procedures to protect our patients and staff. These extra precautions include the following:

  • A mask must be worn at all times during your office visit. Given the short supply of masks, all patients must bring their own mask.
  • To comply with social distancing measures, only the patient will be allowed in the office (except for an essential caregiver or parent/guardian of a minor).
  • Upon entry to the office, you will be screened with a questionnaire and temperature check.
  • We are making efforts to minimize the total time spent in our office. Going forward, your tests for glaucoma will occur on a visit without seeing your doctor. An eye pressure check, physician exam, and review of your testing results will occur shortly thereafter.  We hope to be able to offer telemedicine in the future for patients who find it difficult to return for an additional visit.

This is a unique and rapidly changing situation, and as we learn more about this virus and the best safety measures, we will adjust our practices accordingly. We appreciate your trust and flexibility while our team works to ensure your safety and the long-term health of your eyes.

We look forward to seeing each of you again very soon!

Sincerely,

The Team at Glaucoma Associates of Texas
